Jorge Rodrigues (PI) has been writing grant proposals. A never-ending job!

Sealy Hambright has been investigating the physiological and transcriptional profiles of Shewanella baltica strains under different environmental conditions. He is interested in the transcriptional variation of the Shewanella baltica population.

Austin Willis has been interested in the mechanistic control of O2 employed by the Verrucomicrobium sp. strain TAV2 in creating specific environmental conditions for lignocellulose degradation in the termite hindgut. He has been employing microarrays in his studies.

Aditya Ranjan is interested in the extent of the microbial diversity in the Amazon Forest. He has been using the phylum Verrucomicrobia as a model to understand the effects of the forest-to-pasture conversion in soil microbial communities.

Jantiya Isanapong (Nok) is interested in the following question “To what extent can one sequenced genome provide insights into the genetic makeup of a population?” Toward this, she has been comparing the proteomic profiles of different strains of Verrucomicrobia grown under the same conditions.
